Our Vision

To be the benchmark in cement testing and material analysis, setting the standard for quality, accuracy and trust in the construction industry while driving innovation and sustainability through excellence. To be the most trusted and accessible cement testing laboratory in South Africa, recognized for delivering rapid, accurate and affordable testing solutions.

Our Mission

Our mission is to deliver precise, reliable and fast cement testing services without compromising on quality and that empower our clients to build stronger, safer and more sustainable structures.

We strive to be the go-to-partner for builders, contractors and manufacturers.

We are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and compliance to SANAS while continuously working on advancing our methods to meet the demands of modern construction.

SANS 50196-1:2006 – Compressive strength

Compressive strength of concrete is a measure of its ability to withstand loads that compress or crush the material. It’s a crucial property for determining how well concrete can handle stresses in structures

SANS 50196-3:2006 – Setting time and Soundness

Concrete’s setting time and soundness are crucial properties, with setting time determining how quickly it hardens and soundness indicating its resistance to volume changes.

SANS 50196-2:2014 – Chloride content

Chloride content testing in concrete is crucial for assessing the risk of corrosion in reinforced structures. It involves determining the amount of chloride ions present in concrete samples, often at different depths, to understand how far chlorides have penetrated and if they pose a threat to the reinforcing steel. This testing helps engineers evaluate the remaining service life of structures and plan appropriate repair strategies.

SANS 50196-2:2014 – Sulphate content

Sulphate content testing in concrete is a process used to determine the amount of sulphate present in a concrete sample, which is crucial for assessing the risk of sulphate attack and ensuring the long-term durability of concrete structures. This involves extracting sulphate ions from the concrete, usually through acid digestion, and then quantifying them, often using gravimetric methods by precipitating and weighing barium sulphate.

SANS 50196-2:2014 – Loss on Ignition

Loss on Ignition (LOI) testing in concrete measures the amount of volatile substances lost when a sample is heated to a high temperature. This test is crucial for assessing the quality and composition of cement and concrete, as it helps determine the presence of impurities like moisture, carbon dioxide, and organic matter.

SANS 50196-6:2010 – Fineness of cement

The fineness of cement is a measure of the size of its particles, specifically the total surface area per unit weight. It’s crucial because it impacts cement’s hydration rate, setting time, workability, and strength development in concrete. Finer cement generally leads to faster hydration, quicker setting, and potentially higher early strength, but also increased drying shrinkage and production costs.
